Manage My Benefits
- Enroll for the first time

- Go to the New Enrollment page in SJSU @ Work
- Enter your marital status, whether or not it has changed
- Select the applicable options for Medical/Medical Flex Cash, Dental/Dental Flex Cash, and Flex Spending Accounts
- Click the Add New Dependent link, if applicable
- Complete all required fields for the dependent
- Click Save
- Click Cancel to return to the main page
- For each dependent, and for each type of coverage, select the appropriate action (Add/No Change/Remove)
- Click Continue
- Review the required supporting documents list, as well as the disclosures and privacy notice; indicate that you’ve read them
- Sign and submit
- Your Benefit Representative will contact you if there are any questions and to collect the appropriate documentation for your enrollment

- To view dependent coverage, go to the Dependent/Beneficiary Info page

- Change benefits due to life event

- Go to the Life Events page
- Select the type of life event that has occurred then follow the steps to submit the changes
- Add or Remove Dependents/Gain or Loss of Alternate Coverage/Update Marital Status
- Select the life event
- Enter the event date of the life event (e.g. date of birth, date of adoption, date of marriage, etc.)
- Review the chart of what you can/can’t change for the life event
- Click Continue
- Enter your marital status, whether or not it has changed
- Select the applicable options for Medical/Medical Flex Cash, Dental/Dental Flex Cash, and Flex Spending Accounts
- Review existing dependents to remove coverage or click the Add New Dependent link,
if applicable
- Complete all required fields for the dependent
- Click Save
- Click Cancel to return to the main page
- For each dependent, and for each type of coverage, select the appropriate action (Add/No Change/Remove)
- Click Continue
- Review the required supporting documents list, as well as the disclosures and privacy notice; indicate that you’ve read them
- Sign and submit
- Your Benefit Representative will contact you if there are any questions and to collect the appropriate documentation for your life event

- What is a life event?
- A life event is when something happens that may cause a change in your benefits. These include things like birth of a child, adoption, marriage, divorce, etc. When you log into the system to change your benefits due a life event you can review what changes can be made based on the life event.
- Open Enrollment

- Go to the Open Enrollment page (this link will only be enabled during the open enrollment period)
- Click Select
- Click Edit on the coverage you wish to change/update (Please note: You MUST re-enroll
in flexible spending accounts each year during open enrollment.)
- Options for the coverage will open
- Select the applicable option
- Click Add/Review Dependents, if applicable
- Click the dependent’s name to update or click Add a dependent or beneficiary to add
a new dependent
- Complete all required fields for the dependent
- Click Save
- Click OK to review the data
- Click Return to Enrollment Summary
- Click Return to Event Selection
- For each dependent you wish to enroll, check the
- Enroll box by their name
- Click Continue
- Click OK to return to the main Open Enrollment page
- Once all edits have been made, click Submit
- Review the required support documents list, as well as the disclosures and privacy notice; indicate that you’ve read them
- Sign and submit
- Your Benefit Representative will contact you if there are any questions and to collect the appropriate documentation for your changes

- Change my health plan

Your health plan can only be changed during the annual open enrollment period. See Open Enrollment above for detailed steps.

- Add/Remove a dependent

Dependents can be added during your initial enrollment, then may be added or removed when there is a life event (birth, adoption, marriage, change in/loss of other coverage, etc.) or during the annual open enrollment period (the open enrollment process is separate from this process).

- Enroll in a flexible spending plan

You may enroll in a flexible spending plan during your initial benefits enrollment, when there is a life event (birth, adoption, marriage, change in/loss of other coverage, etc.) or during the annual open enrollment period (the open enrollment process is separate from this process).

- Enroll in flex cash

If you have medical or dental coverage elsewhere, you may elect flex cash in lieu of medical or dental coverage during your initial benefits enrollment, when there is a life event (birth, adoption, marriage, change in/loss of other coverage, etc.) or during the annual open enrollment period (the open enrollment process is separate from this process).

- Enroll in a tax sheltered annuity

- Navigate to the California State University Tax Sheltered Annuity Program
- Click Get Started
- Click Enroll to begin the process
