A President’s Scholar is a matriculated, undergraduate student who has earned an SJSU GPA of 4.0 in 12 letter-graded units for the prior Spring or Fall semester.

- What do I receive as a President's Scholar?

President's Scholar will receive an honors cord and an electronic certificate from the Office of the Provost.
Honors cord can be picked up from our office in Clark Hall 550, on the following dates/times:
Spring 2024:
Wednesday, April 24, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thursday, April 25, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Monday, April 29, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Tuesday, April 30, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Wednesday, May 1, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

- What is a Dean's Scholar?

A Dean’s Scholar is a matriculated, undergraduate student who has earned an SJSU GPA of 3.65 or higher in 12 letter-graded units for the prior Spring or Fall semester.

- What do I receive as a Dean's Scholar?

Dean's Scholar will receive an electronic certificate from their respective college Dean's Office.

- I changed my major since receiving honors, can my certificate be reissued to reflect
my new major?

Honors certificates are issued based on the major at the time the honor was earned. Any honors earned after your major was changed will be issued in your new major. This aligns with your official transcript.
