Dear Colleagues,

Following the review that was required by and conducted in conformance with campus policy, I am pleased to announce the reappointment of Dr. Heather Lattimer as Dean of the College of Education.

The review committee conducted their evaluation of Dr. Lattimer and solicited opinions of her performance from faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community.

The review committee was pleased with support from the community members. Dr. Lattimer was also commended for her “collaborative and inclusive” leadership and for the work she has done over the last five years to “work with multiple constituencies” while also maintaining a focus on “community partnerships” and a “visionary” approach to the future of education.”

In addition, the committee made some recommendations and Dr. Lattimer and I have discussed how to respond to those recommendations.

I thank Dr. Lattimer for her contributions to the University and look forward to a productive future as we strive to serve the San José State University Community.
