Call for Committee Members: Dean Marc d'Alarcao 5-Year Review

Dear Colleagues,

Dr. Marc d’Alarcao is serving his fifth year as Dean for the College of Graduate Studies at San José State University. In accordance with university policy, S16-8, Selection and Review of Administrators, a review committee will be appointed to solicit feedback from the campus community.

As such, I am seeking nominations to serve on this very important committee. The review committee shall be composed of faculty, staff, student, administrators or community representatives as outlined below. Please consider this opportunity or nominate a colleague to serve. Nominees must be available to serve on this committee through the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.

• Faculty (tenured, tenure track, lecturers) - comprise majority of the committee 
• Staff
• Students
• One community member or SJSU Administrator (MPP) position

Each nomination must include a written statement reflecting their interest and qualifications for serving on the review committee including their perspectives on diversity and inclusion. Please submit all nominating petitions by 12 noon, September 13, 2024. Any questions about the dean review process should be directed to the Provost Office (provost@sjsu.edu).
