About Professor Greg Woods:
Greg Woods teaches Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Legal Studies courses. A popular educator, internationally respected law enforcement and legal trend expert, constitutional scholar, and student of history, Woods is regularly featured on television, radio, podcasts, and print. On behalf of the Center for Continuing Education, Professor Woods develops and presents online continuing legal education programs, including Policing from Where We Are, Through the Smoke: Legal Trends and Gun Violence and Ethical Issues of Contemporary Criminal Justice. Calculated to address significant issues impacting the United States, Woods wrote and presented Policing in the Current Political and Social Climate to members of the San José Police Department and other agency personnel, a first of its kind law enforcement training model. Woods delivered training seminars to top Beijing police officials from the Ministry of Security of the People's Republic of China, through a foreign language interpreter, emphasizing sources of legal authority, limitations to the use of force and legal remedies in response to police misconduct. Woods has taught at the University of San Francisco, Cal State East Bay, Sonoma State and San Francisco State Universities. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from San Francisco Law School and lives and works in the Bay Area.
