- How do I find out about the latest marketing and brand updates?

SJSU's University Marketing and Communications team has developed the new SJSU Brand Style Guide to help us all promote the appropriate use of the San José State brand and identity.

- When will our new identity be required?

Using the new communication platform and identity elements is not required. But as use of it grows, so will recognition of San José State.

- Why would SJSU spend money on branding at this time?

The visual identity system was developed through a sponsored project with the department of graphic design. That means SJSU's University Marketing and Communications paid a practicum class (Associate Professor Chang Kim and a group of BFA students) and those funds went directly back into the program, supporting the very students who did the work. The real-life experience these students got from the project is invaluable.
In addition, building a strong university visual identity will benefit the entire community by elevating SJSU's image -- and encouraging support and engagement from our many audiences. Our team continues to partner with faculty and staff members and students move the brand forward.

Most lockups for colleges, departments and programs are currently available. Download your unit's lockup or request a new one.

SJSU no longer has one "logo." We use a series of marks. Read the SJSU Brand Style Guide and download our university marks.

- How do I submit a request for a vendor who needs our identity elements and the SJSU
Spartan Typeface?
