Sexual Assault Prevention Online Training Programs
San Jose State University is committed to creating a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment. In compliance with the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy and federal mandates such as Title IX, the Clery Act, and VAWA under its Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act provision (Campus SaVE Act), all incoming SJSU students are expected to complete online training on Title IX and sexual assault prevention, as well as alcohol and substance abuse prevention. You will receive MySJSU notifications and our training vendor, Vector Solutions LMS, @safecolleges.com to complete your training.
Attention Incoming Enrolled Students:
Sexual assault prevention online training will be available to incoming students who are enrolled in classes. A notification will be sent to your MySJSU account when the training is available. You will also receive reminders from safecolleges.com to complete the training. Assigned training modules must be completed within a month of the start date.

Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduate/Graduate Students
Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduate/Graduate Students is a 75 minutes video-based online interactive training that addresses issues of sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking which impacts countless college students across the country. The training provides incoming students with important information including key definitions, bystander strategies, and resources that will foster a safer and healthier place to live, learn and work
AlcoholEdu for College
AlcoholEdu for College is an interactive 140 minute online training program that equips students with essential knowledge about alcohol and other substances. By empowering them with the skills to stay safe and protect their peers and by dispelling common myths about drinking, it aims to foster a healthier, more informed campus community.
Part 1 of the course takes approximately two hours to complete, and you can take it in multiple sittings. This part ends after the Exam and Survey 2. You must earn an 80% or higher grade to pass.
All incoming undergraduates are expected to complete AlcoholEdu for College, in addition to Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates.
Sexual Assault Prevention Ongoing: Healthy Relationships
Sexual Assault Prevention Ongoing: Healthy Relationships is a 55 minute online training course that emphasizes healthy relationship, tactics for bystander intervention among close friends and survivor empathy.
All continuing students are expected to complete Sexual Assault Prevention Ongoing: Healthy Relationships
About 30 days after completing Part 1 of each course, you will receive an email from safecolleges.com asking you to complete Part II. Part II of each course will take about 15 minutes to complete. Part II is a survey that is completely voluntary. This voluntary survey asks about your current beliefs, attitudes, and experiences. Survey responses are optional and only stored, analyzed, or shared on an anonymous basis in a way that will not be linked to a specific individual.

Training Requirements
- Incoming undergraduates are required to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates AND AlcoholEdu for College.
- Incoming graduate students are required to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate Students.
- Students must complete training within a month of the start date with a minimum passing score of 80%.
- All continuing students must complete a refresher course annually in fall.

The Office for Title IX and Equal Opportunity can provide information about options available to you, including support resources, accommodations and interim measures (such as a No Contact Order), or response options (such as a formal investigation), but ultimately, you decide what option(s) to pursue. The Confidential Survivor Advocate provides free confidential services for students dealing with sexual misconduct and harassment, including sexual assault, domestic and dating violence as well as stalking. Services include accompaniment to court, Title IX, and/or the police; understanding options for accountability, making plans for safety and healing and obtaining accommodations for academic, housing, and employment.
