Survivor Advocacy Services (SAS)

The SJSU Survivor Advocacy Services (SAS) offers a safe and supportive environment for people who have been impacted by sexual violence, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, and stalking. We are a confidential resource for SJSU students, faculty and staff members where you can discuss what happened without notifying the Title IX office or law enforcement. Services include:

Advocacy

Educates survivors about their options regarding on and off campus reporting options, including Title IX, legal, or medical processes. Provides emergency and support services to ensure the well-being and safety of survivors. Serve as a liaison for issues within the Title IX Office, University Police Department, University Housing Services, Student Conduct & Ethical Development and other key campus departments.

Accompaniment

Accompanies survivors, at their request and with their permission, and be with them as a support person throughout the stages of an investigation, counseling, medical appointment, or legal appointments.

Accommodations

Provinces accommodations for housing, academic, and employment needs through school and community collaboration.

Crisis Counseling

Offers short-term, confidential and goal-oriented crisis counseling to promote survivor safety and stability.

Educational Opportunities

Provides educational opportunities for organizations on campus to learn more about topics relating to sexual violence, intimate partner violence/domestic violence, and stalking.
