Scheduling Priority

Classes always have priority over events in any classroom, and confirmed reservations are subject to change based on the needs of academic classes. Scheduling priority of classes and events in University Lecture Rooms [pdf] (ULRs) is assigned priority in the following order:

  1. Regular scheduled classes, specifically those classes with on-grid, standard meeting patterns.

  2. Ad hoc scheduled classes, including supervision classes with TBA meeting patterns and classes with occasional on-campus meetings (with Instruction Modes 03, 04, & 11).

      1. Requests to use ULRs for ad hoc classes during prime-time, which is Mondays to Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., are not accepted. Departments are instructed to use college/department managed spaces.

      2. Ad hoc classes are defined as classes with occational meetings and are assigned Instruction Modes 03, 04, and 11, if they require in-person attendance.

          1. "Occasional" is defined as meeting up to eight (8) times for Spring/Fall terms and five (5) times for Summer/Winter terms.

          2. Classes with more than eight on-person meetings, using the same meeting pattern, should be scheduled as Instruction Mode P (In-Person).

  3. Events hosted campus department-sponsored events.

In an effort to prioritze classes over events, review the Event Request Submission Timelines for University Lecture Rooms.
