Requesting Sites
SJSU employees can request a site on the sjsu.edu domain. The request is reviewed by the Web Operations Group. If approved, IT provisions the site and grants access to the requestor.
Who can request a website or a blog
Every request for a website or a blog on the official university domain sjsu.edu must meet the following criteria:
- The request must be made by an SJSU employee
- The requested website must be for one of the following:
- a department, center, or organization with a direct reporting line to a vice president or the President’s Cabinet
- ongoing, recurring or long-term SJSU events or projects
Request workflow
The Web Operations Group reviews the request and evaluates it based on the criteria. The group will reach out to the requestor as needed.
Timeline once approved
- IT provisions site
- Website owner and content creators develop content per guidelines and standards
- Website owner and content creators request a site audit and launch
- Blogs are live immediately after being provisioned and there is no audit and launch process for them
- IT audits website
- Website owner and content creators address any outstanding issues
- IT launches website
