The domain sjsu.edu hosts the university’s official web presence.

Publishing content to the domain is controlled through a number of content management systems to ensure a trusted, secure, consistent, and accessible experience for our users. When determined by business goals and technical requirements, some websites conducting official university business are hosted elsewhere.

Web Operations Group

The web operations group is responsible for the day-to-day operations of SJSU’s digital presence; it oversees UX/UI design, university information architecture, new site requests, and offers strategic marketing and communications support to the SJSU web content creator community. It also supports campus Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) efforts through auditing and reporting.

  • Delegating website content creation responsibilities
  • Requesting website access for new users
  • Owning website strategy, direction and content curation
  • Coordinating with IT/UMC to implement large-scale changes
  • Delegating tasks to web content creators
  • Requesting new websites
  • Shuttering old websites

Web Content Creator(s)

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and accessibility of their assigned websites. The role includes:

  • Requesting website access for new users
  • Adding, editing and maintaining website content
  • Adhering to web accessibility standards and branding guidelines
  • Remediating problems
