Catalog Content
The university academic catalog is the primary source of truth for a significant amount of information. Curriculum requires department, college, and division approval. Do not copy or duplicate details from the university catalog to your department website, instead link to the appropriate information on the catalog.
Information copied to pages outside the catalog is frequently out-of-date or otherwise inaccurate and doesn't take into account that students may elect to satisfy degree requirements for different catalog years for their major or graduation requirements.
"Catalog content" that ends up on department websites commonly includes:
- degree requirements
- course descriptions, prerequisites, or other course specific information
- Program Learning Outcomes
- admissions requirements
- roadmaps
Graduate program admission processes
For graduate programs, it is appropriate to represent admissions processes on the website.
Graduate roadmaps
Graduate roadmaps are not currently included in the MyRoadmaps catalog so it is appropriate to incorporate those onto your websites, but it should be as website content and not PDF attachments.
