Environmental Health and Safety

San José State University is dedicated to providing a safe, healthy, accessible, and sustainable environment for its faculty, staff, students, and visitors. In collaboration with the campus community, the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) team provides consultation and training on occupational health and safety standards and the management of hazardous materials. The team facilitates periodic inspections to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Under the direction of the associate vice president of the Facilities Development and Operations Department Environmental Health and Safety is also responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

All faculty and staff are expected to help to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring that practices and conditions established by EH&S are followed within the areas under their control.  All members of the campus community are to cooperate fully with all aspects of the health and safety program.

For more information about EH&S programs and services, visit the FD&O Environmental Health and Safety website.
