Course Requirements for Calculus I, II, and III

For Science, Engineering, Math and BS Economics students.

B or better in Math 19 Math 30*
B or better in both Math 18A and Math 18B Math 30*
C- or better in Math 19 Math 30X and Math 30W
C- or better in both Math 18A and Math 18B Math 30X and Math 30W
B or better in Math 30 or Math 30X  Math 31*
C- or better in Math 30 or Math 30X  Math 31X and Math 31W
B or better in Math 31 or Math 31X  Math 32*
C- or better in Math 31 or 31X  Math 32X and Math 32W

Prerequisite Requirements for Math 70 or 70X

For Business and Packaging students.

Prerequisite Course Eligibility
B or better in Math 18A or Math 19  Math70*
 C- or better in Math 18A or Math 19  Math 70X and Math 70W

Prerequisite Requirements for Math 71 or 71X

For Aviation, Technology, Packaging and BA Economics students.

Prerequisite Course Eligibility
B or better in Math 18A or Math 19  Math71*
 C- or better in Math 18A or Math 19  Math 71X and Math 71W

Prerequisite Requirements for Discrete Math, Math 42 and Math 42X

For Computer Science,Mathematics,  Computer and Software  Engineering students.Math 42X and Math 42W

 B or better in Math 19  Math 42*
B  or better in both Math 18A and Math 18B Math 42*
C- or better in Math 19  Math 42X and Math 42W
C- or better in both Math 18A and Math 18B Math 42X and Math 42W

*Students repeating the course are required to take the "X" version of the course and the corresponding workshop.

Note: Some departments that require Math 71 allow students who have taken Math 30 to make a course substitution.  Students who earned a 3 or better in the AP Calculus Exam or earned a C- or better should contact their academic advisor about waiving the Math 71 requirement.
