How To Apply for Semester at SJSU

Application Steps for Semester at SJSU (SAS)

  1. Complete and submit an application for SAS in CalStateApply. Read the tutorial before you begin your application.
  2. In about 2 to 3 business days, look for an email from International GatewaysSJSU Admissions with a 9-digit SJSU ID number with links to pay the application fee and upload documents. 
  3. Use the payment portal to pay a non-refundable SAS application fee of $150 USD.
  4. Download and complete the Student Consent for Release of Information. If you have an agency assisting you with this application, please indicate your agency information in the form. If you do not have an agency/agent, please leave the middle part of the Student Consent form blank. 
  5. Download and complete the SJSU Declaration of Finance form (Fall/Spring semester, Summer Semester), and SJSU Course Wish List.
  6. Use the secure documents upload portal to upload the required documents to complete your SAS application.
  7. Receive the Acceptance Letter for the SAS program, and a digital I-20 (for F-1 students) issued by International Gateways. 
  8. (for F1 students) Pay the I-901 fee (aka SEVIS fee) and schedule a F1 visa interview appointment.

Application Fee 

International Gateways does not require a tuition deposit. You will receive your I-20 after all required documents and fees have been received and processed.
