Disqualified International Students

Helping SJSU International academically disqualified students has been an essential part of the international  Gateways mission. Disqualified Students add diversity to our Semester at SJSU Program (SAS).

SAS is open to F-1 international students who have been academically disqualified from an SJSU undergraduate or graduate degree program. Students transfer to SAS and take the necessary courses to be reinstated to their degree program.

Semester at SJSU helps every disqualified student get readmitted to SJSU and matriculate  in  good standing. The latter occurs through advising students before, during SAS orientation and one on one advising orientation on how to reapply to SJSU by completing the readmission and reinstatement processes.

NOTE:  All past due charges and any outstanding fees owed to SJSU must be fully paid before applying to the SAS program.

  • This is your chance to get back to school so stay positive and do your best.

I struggled academically, leading to termination of my I-20 with only 14 units left to graduate from San José State University. Realizing the importance of finishing my undergraduate studies, I chose to study abroad at International Gateways, SJSU, where Marwa Abbas provided invaluable support, helping me improve my GPA and graduate from SJSU. Grateful for this opportunity, I highly recommend the International Gateways program for those seeking academic redemption or a unique learning experience in California.
