New Certificates

Basic Certificate

Basic certificate programs provide opportunities for students to pursue specialized, often pre-professional, focused educational objectives that may be separate from a degree program. Basic certificate programs are under the jurisdiction of the Undergraduate Studies (UGS) Committee and administered by the Office of Undergraduate Education.

Advanced Certificate

An advanced certificate program offers postbaccalaureate students coursework leading to a specific, applied, focused goal. Advanced certificate programs are under the jurisdiction of the Graduate Studies and Research (GS&R) Committee and administered by the College of Graduate Studies.

Non-Academic Credit Certificate

Certificate programs with no academic credit, or grades, are overseen by the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) in consultation with the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education.

Special Session (self-support)

All special session proposals require a market analysis. Contact the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) to set up a meeting with the Associate Dean before moving forward with the proposal. New Special Session Certificate proposals that are created in a Plan A type (pre-approved courses) also complete the Program Review Form with the help of CPGE.
