Bio
Dona Nichols, JMC academic advisor, brings more than 30 years of media experience to the classroom. She’s worked in TV, radio, newspapers and magazines. Nichols is the founding adviser to SJSU’s first digital sports magazine, The Spear, which serves as the foundation to the CSU’s only sports journalism program.
Nichols has extensive experience in the area of diversity and media both in the classroom and the community. She is the co-founder of SJSU’s "Diversity Day," an annual event since 2015 that earned her a proclamation from San José Mayor Sam Licardo. Nichols also serves as the SJSU liaison for the Journalism Association of Community Colleges.
