2021 Sexual Assault Awareness Month
We devote every April to bringing awareness to Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) through programming to help educate and connect our community to create change. Engage with us through podcasts, social media campaigns, and outreach to continue in this important work.
Although we are moving all programming onto an online platform, we can still build a strong network of support and community during this critical time.

Denim Day
Wednesday, April 28th | On Campus & Online | All Day
Denim Day began more than 20 years ago, after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the survivor had been wearing tight jeans. After the ruling, women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in protest. Wearing jeans on Denim Day has since become a symbol for raising awareness, supporting survivors, and protesting against destructive attitudes about sexual violence. SJSU community members are encouraged to participate by wearing denim on campus, using campaign materials to promote conversation.
