Economics is a general program, flexible enough to allow for a variety of student objectives. The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees are designed for those who plan to study economics at the graduate level, or to find jobs working as an economist or in closely related fields. Both programs have 20 or more units of open electives. Our department also offers a Minor, students should complete 12 units of coursework which is separate from their major. In addition, students may take some classes online. Find more information on our undergraduate programs.
The Department of Economics offers two degree options from which graduate students can choose. Our MA program in Economics is flexible and allows you and your academic advisor to tailor a course of study to fits your need. Our MA program in Applied Economics has less flexibility, but is custom tailored to prepare you for applied careers. Find more information about graduate programs.
