Department Jobs Opening
The Aviation and Technology Department may provide assistance through students for the following positions:
- Instructional Students Assistant (ISA)

Position Status
The department is currently not accepting any applicants or actively looking for one. More information on the status will be updated in the upcoming future.
Descriptions
Under direct supervision from faculty, Instructional Student Assistants (ISA) perform grading and/or lab assisting duties up to the assigned work hours per week. Consult the department Administration Analyst for more information.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be an undergraduate/graduate student currently studying an engineer related field. Preferred Aviation and Technology students.
- Undergraduate/graduate students must be either completed an equivalent course with a B or better, OR have 6 months or more knowledge on the subject.
- Undergraduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better OR graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.
- Students must have no conflict with the course they are working for.Application Procedures

New Applicants
- Filled out the Department Hiring forms
- Attached the class schedule for the semester you work for
- Completed the New Employees Form from the SJSU University Personnel
- Once completed, emailed the University Personnel to initiate the I-9 Form
- Forwarded the Effective Date to the Administration Analyst to initiate the working processFormer Applicants

- Teaching Associate (TA)

Position Status
The department is currently not accepting any applicants or actively looking for one. More information on the status will be updated in the upcoming future.
Descriptions
Under supervision from faculty, Teaching Associates (TA) serve as instructors for laboratory courses. TA are fully responsible for providing lab instruction, making and administering lab assignments and examinations, tutoring students during the lab session, assessing student performance, holding office hours, and determining total lab scores/grades. Consult the department Administration Analyst for more information.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a graduate student currently studying an engineer related field. Preferred Aviation and Technology graduate students.
