Academic Notice
Students on academic notice will be placed in one of these three categories at the end of the semester:
1. Good Academic Standing
The student has earned at least a 2.0 semester GPA, which is high enough to bring the SJSU cumulative GPA to 2.0.
2. Continued Academic Notice
The student has earned at least a 2.0 semester GPA, but it is not high enough to bring the SJSU cumulative GPA to 2.0. The student will be notified by a CoSS SSC Advisor with next steps.
3. Disqualification
The student has earned below a 2.0 semester GPA (which will also bring the cumulative GPA down). The student will be notified by a CoSS SSC Advisor to discuss next steps to become reinstated.

Students on Academic Notice within the College of Social Sciences will have a hold placed on their account that will prevent them from making changes to their schedules. In order to remove the hold, First Time and Continued Academic Notice students must complete a set of specific requirements.
