The Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club (officially called “The Symposium”) is aimed at aiding students in academic achievement and the cultivation of philosophical understanding, at fostering fellowship among students interested in philosophy, and sponsoring activities that encourage philosophical pursuits at SJSU. All SJSU students with an interest in philosophy are welcome to participate regardless of their major.

In past years, the club's activities have included talks, movie screenings and discussions, trips to conferences, and trips to other events (e.g., plays and arts events with philosophical themes).

Fall 2017, the club (usually) meets Mondays ay 4:30 PM. Join the SJSU Philosophy Club Facebook group to stay up to date on the club's meetings and activities.

The Symposium sponsors Geist - A Student Journal of Philosophy.
