A native of Bangladesh, Sharmin Khan has taught at SJSU since 1996. She obtained a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is primarily interested in writing pedagogy, second language acquisition, and language planning in South Asia.
