Management Information Systems Honors Practicum
What's the Business Honors Program?
The Management Information Systems Honors Practicum (BUS118H/119H) is a unique, two-semester course for senior-year MIS majors with exceptional academic performance. This practicum provides students with a rigorous, experiential learning opportunity, where they apply the business and technical competencies acquired throughout their studies to real-world projects implemented by partner organizations. Working in teams of three to five, students manage each phase of the project lifecycle—from requirements gathering and product design to implementation, user documentation, and training—tailored to the specific needs of their organizational sponsor. In addition to comprehensive team coaching, the course includes in-depth instruction on project management methodologies and skills, which students immediately apply to their projects, ensuring their learning is educational and practical.
