Applied Data Science Department Special Session Scholarships
The Applied Data Science (ADS) Department at San José State University offers scholarships to students enrolling in the Special Session of the Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) program. These scholarships recognize academic achievement and provide financial assistance to support students' educational goals. The scholarship funds can help offset course fees by the amount of one 3-unit course
Eligibility
A student eligible to apply for the ADS Special Session Scholarship must:
- Be a special session student currently enrolled in the MSDA program.
- Have the classified student status.
- Complete at least 9 units of degree-required courses (not including remedial or internship courses) and have full time status.
- Earn a 3.600 or better GPA, which consists only of MSDA degree-required courses (not from other programs).
- Have not been on university sanction (e.g., violation of academic integrity.
Application Process
Application Submission
Complete the online scholarship application and submit all required documentation, including a copy of your transcript showing your GPA.

Review
Applications are reviewed by the ADS Scholarship Committee based on eligibility and selection criteria.
Application Deadlines
- Application Opens: August 15
- Application Deadline: October 15
- Notification of Awards: November 15
Receiving Scholarship Funds
Scholarship funds will be dispersed to the student’s account for the following term after all eligibility requirements [1] are met. Students must be actively enrolled to receive scholarship funds.
