The SJSU Green Campus Podcast is created and hosted by the students from the San José State University Office of Sustainability! Our podcast aims to raise awareness about a range of sustainability and social issues that impact the SJSU campus and the broader community—by showcasing sustainability efforts and research from our faculty, staff, students, and other experts in the related fields.

In episode 9 we delve into the world of sustainable fashion, learn how to positively impact our clothing choices, and discover how saying "No" to fast fashion can be a powerful step towards a more environmentally conscious and socially responsible wardrobe. In the 8th episode of the SJSU Green Campus podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Anne-Marie Bonneau and Mary Mackey, two chefs who prioritize sustainability in their cooking. Anne-Marie Bonneau, also known as the Zero Waste Chef, is an advocate for reducing food waste and living a more sustainable lifestyle. She is renowned for her innovative and tasty recipes, as well as her blog and cookbook, "The Zero Waste Chef," which provides helpful tips and strategies for minimizing food waste in the kitchen. Mary Mackey is a plant-based nutritionist and educator who manages the blog "The Wholesome Vegan." She is committed to promoting a vegan lifestyle by offering nutritious, whole-food-based plant-based recipes, as well as education and tools to assist individuals in transitioning to a plant-based diet.

On the 7th episode of the SJSU Green Campus podcast, we meet with Matt Sandy, the founder of Seedlings, an email newsletter created to connect people and inspire them to make a more sustainable future. Seedlings is building a social ecosystem to bring together college communities to think and work green, encouraging students to channel their eco-anxiety into compassion, excitement, and action!

On the 6th episode of the SJSU Green Campus podcast, we meet with the owner of Source Zero waste shop in Downtown San Jose, Ashley Merz to discuss different tips on how to implement zero waste into our lives. Ashley graduated from UCSC with a degree in Anthropology and love for the environment, she decided to create this shop in downtown for the community to have access to refill their soaps, detergent, lotions, and so much more. 

On the 5th episode of the SJSU Green Campus podcast we will be introducing Green Ninja which started out as a research program at SJSU and began to expand with other partners becoming an educational program for children! At Green Ninja, their purpose is to empower environmental leadership through a deep understanding of science.

Our the fourth episode of the SJSU Green Campus Podcast we had special guest from Australia, Professor Melissa Haswell who teaches at University of Sydney and Queensland University of Technology. This episode focuses on the Australia's environmental challenges and how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people help preserve Australia. You don't want to miss this special episode!
