Student Meghan Graham wins WIA Scholarship!
Congratulations to Junior Meghan Graham for winning the prestigious Women in Animation scholarship! Out of 170 applications from 72 schools across the US as well as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, and the Philippines during the 2021-2022 program, the WIA scholarship committee selected 18 amazing students and Design Department student Meghan Graham is one of them. Congratulations, Meghan!

Shrunkenheadman Club wins Best Animation at the CSU Media Arts Festival with Felt Love!
Congratulations to the Shrunkenheadman Club and all artists that contributed to the animated short, Felt Love! Their film won the Best Animation Award at the CSU Media Arts Festival 2021! Special congratulations to the leadership on this great project: Arlene Bongco, Celine Nguyen, Angeline Vu—and also to Prof. John Clapp that supervised this wonderful project.

Spartan Daily Named National Four-Year Daily Newspaper of the Year
The Spartan Daily was named national Four-Year Daily Newspaper of the Year in the College Media Association's Pinnacle Awards over the weekend, besting student news outlets from across the nation with its content from 2020-21. Last year, the Daily was also named best student newspaper in California by the California News Publishers Association and the California College Media Association, beating out well-funded rivals USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley and numerous others.

SJSU Photography and Spatial Arts Graduate Students Win Coveted Cadogan Scholarship!
SJSU Photography Graduate Student Adrienne Defendi and Spatial Arts Graduate Student Katharine T. Jacobs have won the Cadogan Scholarship presented by the San Francisco Foundation! To see some of their artwork, be sure to check out The Annual Murphy and Cadogan Contemporary Art Awards Exhibition at SOMArts in San Francisco opening on Saturday, September 11th.
