June 24 SJSU Adapt Town Hall; Register for June 25 SJSU Commute Town Hall to Address Parking and Transportation

Dear campus community,

I am looking forward to our upcoming SJSU Adapt town hall, which will take place on Thursday, June 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. This will be an important meeting for the Spartan community as we prepare for our campus repopulation process beginning July 1.

Please remember to register and submit any questions here for the town hall. The town hall will be recorded and accessible on the SJSU Adapt website. 

We will follow a similar format to previous meetings, with introductory information regarding critical topics taking place before submitted questions are answered. You also will have the opportunity to ask questions. We will do our best to answer all questions, prioritizing those that affect most, if not all, of our campus community.

SJSU Commute Town Hall Planned for June 25

With the repopulation plan beginning July 1, SJSU will be holding an SJSU Commute town hall on Friday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration is required. 

We know that planning your return to work commute is vital, especially as we see traffic and congestion returning to pre-COVID-19 levels throughout the Bay Area. Commuting likely has significantly changed for many of you, and we understand that there are still many questions surrounding health guidelines, regulations, and service when it comes to parking and transportation.

SJSU Parking Services and Associated Students Transportation Solutions will be joined by representatives from Altamont Corridor Express, BART, Waze Carpool, and others to answer your questions. 

Reminder about Changes to Mask Requirements at SJSU

Beginning July 1, SJSU is aligning with Santa Clara County and State of California recommendations that fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask while on campus, unless they desire to continue to wear one. However, unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks indoors in public settings, and there are some settings where masking is still required for everyone, such as public transit; hospitals; long-term care facilities; homeless shelters; and indoors in K-12 schools, childcare and other youth settings. 

Although this mask and face covering guidance is changing, we must treat everyone who chooses to wear a mask with respect, whether they are fully vaccinated or not. Do not make assumptions about an individual’s vaccination status because the individual may or may not be wearing a mask.

Thank you to everyone who has kept SJSU beautiful and safe over the last 15 months. I look forward to all being together again soon as a Spartan community.
