In conjunction with the College of Education and under the leadership of Prof. Michael
Katz, ISREE over the past seventeen years has sponsored the annual Francis T. Villemain
lecture delivered in honor of the former SJSU dean of the College of Education and
professor of the philosophy of education. The lecture brings world-class scholars
to San Jose State University to offer new perspectives on the nexus between education
and democracy.
