Frosh English
Welcome to the Frosh English/First-Year Writing Program at San José State University!
We have designed the First-Year Writing Program to help you realize your potential as a writer and critical thinker. We will coach you to find your voice—academically, professionally, and personally—so you can contribute to ongoing local, regional, national, and global conversations. All of our courses emphasize the writing process: prewriting, organizing, composing, revising, and editing. This process will help you approach any writing task with confidence and clarity—whatever the subject, whatever the discipline.
We offer several courses to choose from as you develop your writing and satisfy your general education requirements. We believe that, with a little guidance from us, you are the one best able to determine the writing courses that are right for you. So, we have developed a process to help you decide. The links below describe the different writing courses and the selection process. We look forward to seeing you in our classes.
