Probation and Disqualification

The university has academic probation and disqualification policies.

The College of Engineering has its own probation and disqualification policies that engineering students who are disqualified by the College of Engineering must change their major out of the College of Engineering.  
 
The Electrical Engineering program has its own Major Probation and disqualification policies as described below.  Electrical Engineering students who are Major Disqualified must change their major out of Electrical Engineering or become undeclared.

Electrical Engineering Major Probation Policy

EE undergraduate students with Major GPAs below 2.0 or who have not passed EE 97 or EE 98 or EE 110 the first time, or have not made significant progress towards EE major completion will be placed on Major Probation.  Major GPA is the average of classes specific to EE major (EE 30, EE 97, EE 98, ENGR 10, EE 110, etc.) and preparation classes (math classes, physics, chemistry classes, etc.)  If you find yourself on Major Probation, contact the EE Major Advisor for advising.

Electrical Engineering Major Disqualification Policy

EE undergraduate students who are on Major Probation and receive semester GPA below 2.0 or have not made significant progress towards EE major completion or who have not passed EE 97 or EE 98 or EE 110 the second time will be disqualified from Electrical Engineering major.  EE students who are Major Disqualified should contact the EE Major Advisor for help in changing their major out of Electrical Engineering or becoming undeclared.
