The Department of Computer Engineering offers a MS in Software Engineering with a Specialization in Cybersecurity. With the global threats of cyber-crime, information vulnerability and infrastructure dependence on computer-based and networked systems, our nation’s continued safety and economic prosperity increasingly depends on the availability of a significantly increased cyber-security competent workforce. The Master of Science in Software Engineering program offers a specialization in cybersecurity to students who seek career opportunities in cybersecurity and information assurance. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Identify different cybersecurity attacks and design effective defenses against these attacks.
- Obtain in-depth understanding of cryptography algorithms, standards and authentication protocols.
- Design and build secure software systems and network systems.
This program specialization prepares students for careers including but not limited to security engineer, security architect, security software engineer, and security analyst.
