Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony: Community Sing

Friday July 19, 7:30pm
San Jose State University Concert Hall

Please join us for an informal performance of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” the finale of his Ninth Symphony. Featuring a community chorus under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Benson, with Liszt’s titanic transcription for two pianist with additional timpani and percussion and an all-star quartet of vocal soloists. The performance will include a short lecture on the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven Center Director Beethoven Center Director Dr. Erica Buurman, and there will be a reception following the concert.

Location: SJSU Music Building (MUS on campus map), Room 150 & Concert Hall.
Parking: We recommend parking at the South Parking Garage at the corner of 7th Street and San Salvador Street.

COVID Mitigation Procedures:  Masks are optional for all singers.
