Bio
Heidi Livingston Eisips has an MBA with an emphasis in Market Research and Strategy from Yale University. She is currently completing and defending her doctoral dissertation in Ed Leadership, focused on Higher Education. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Information Science & Data Analytics (ISDA) department of the College of Information, Data & Society at SJSU, where she teaches a wide variety of statistics, analytics, and engineering/STEM writing and communication courses. She has also led and transformed a ground-breaking experiential professional development course, the Gary J. Sbona Honors Program in Marketing & Business Analytics, from Spring 2021 to Fall 2023 (six semesters), where students worked with industry-leading organizations such as NVIDIA, Verily, Western Digital, the San Jose Earthquakes, Joint Venture Silicon Valley, and many more.
Throughout her career in the private sector, Ms. Eisips has worked as a marketing strategist with Fortune 100's, start-ups, and mid-size companies, across a variety of industries, including enterprise software, mobile tech, biopharma, and ed tech.
Ms. Eisips has served on SJSU's university-wide Honors Task Force and a university-wide executive search committee. A member of SJSU’s Doctoral program in Educational Leadership, with a research emphasis on student success, emerging technologies, algorithmic bias, and data ethics, Ms. Eisips is also a founding member of the Unconscious Bias Working Group at Santa Clara University’s Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship.
An experienced senior lecturer and facilitator, Ms. Eisips has taught all ages, from youth to post-graduate, both in the classroom and in professional development and training settings. With expertise in a wide array of educational technologies and effective pedagogical approaches, her teaching passion is encouraging student voice, innovation, human-centered design thinking and co-creation of learning through a balance between online and in-person educational strategies. Her dissertation (link) explores the intersection between technology and student voice.
An experienced writer and editor, Ms. Eisips has worked as a faculty-in-residence with the SJSU Writing Center; she also has served on the College of Business Written Communication Task Force from Fall 2020 to Fall 2023 (3.5 years).
