IMPORTANT information for Single Subject SOCIAL SCIENCE Program applicants:

[Please read the following notice carefully as I/we receive many inquiries on these questions, so I want to make sure that this is as clear and easy as possible for everyone.]

Subject Matter Competency Waivers: Note that unless you have received a BA from the SJSU Social Science Teacher Preparation Program (or are in the last semester of the program), you will NOT be eligible for a Subject Matter Competency Waiver and will be required to take and pass the CSETs before enrollment into the Social Science Teacher Credential program. 

Application Interviews/Appointments: Please email erica.boas@sjsu.edu to set up an appointment for an interview, Writing Task, and to complete the Subject Matter Competency form. I appreciate your patience as you await a response; I respond as quickly as I can, but this can sometimes take up to a week. If you don't hear back from me after that period, please feel free to email again.
