Bio
Dr. Mark Ammar Rayes is an Adjunct Professor at SJSU, where he teaches IoT, Networking, Software Security, Enterprise Platforms, GPU with CUDA, and AI/ML/LLM. He has authored four books (including a bestseller), over 200 publications, and holds more than 50 issued patents.
He is the founding president and board member of www.issip.org, the editor-in-chief of the "Advances of IoT" journal, and serves on the editorial boards of (a) IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, (b) IEEE Blockchain Technical Brief, (c) the European Alliance for Innovation, and (e) IEEE Industry Communities Board.
Dr. Rayes has served as a guest editor for over two dozen IEEE journals and magazine issues, and as an Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Internet Technology Journal, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Journal, and the International Journal of Communication Systems. He has delivered keynote speeches at several IEEE and industry conferences.
With over 20 years of industry experience at Cisco and Bell Labs, Dr. Rayes brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his academic roles. He holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana, an MS in AI/ML from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
