Binary Data From a Single Group

Synonyms for "binary data" include "binomial variable," "Bernoulli trial," dichotomous data, and "indicator variable." By any name, data represent dichotomous categories (e.g., case / control, young / old, male / female, etc.).

Data may be stored in text , <Y>, or numerically encoded (e.g., 0 = no, 1 = yes) form.

There is no independent variable in this type of analysis.

Data are tallied and proportions are calculated with the FREQ command. The /C option is used to compute confidence intervals for proportions.
