Week 8 (3/23/04 & 3/25/04)

PRELIMINARIES
  1. I return exams with a week and papers within 2 weeks
  2. Paper #1 ("Cultural paper") due today. No later papers accepted. 
  3. Exam #1 
    1. Return exams & scantron / Key is posted on the web / Statistics
    2. Permission to post grades via Tower Card number -- If you do not want me to post your grades via your Tower Card, please send an email to gerstman@email.sjsu.edu no later than midnight on 3/25 with the subject  "do not post grade"
  4. Requests 
    1. This week we discuss several sensitive topics. If you are shy, easily embarrassed, morally opposed to presenting topics related to sexuality in public, or, for whatever reason, averse to this topic, please feel free to skip this week's class meetings. (You are still responsible for material presented on the web and in the text, unless you otherwise receive prior permission from Dr. G.)
    2. At the same time, I want you to adopt a clinical state of mind about  the psychological, physiological, anatomical, and sociological aspects of sexuality and reproductive health. 
    3. In the past, I have encouraged you to state your mind freely about health topics in class. This week, I want you to exert special consideration toward  the beliefs and morals of others, avoid glibness, and keep your comments low key.
