SJSU encourages its campus community members to exercise their right to vote. Various departments at SJSU provide resources to ensure voters can make informed decisions. You can find information about how to register and where to vote here.

Key General Election Dates

  • The last day to register to vote for the November 5, 2024 General Election and receive a vote by mail (VBM) ballot is October 21, 2024.
  • Missed the registration deadline? Same-day or conditional voter registrationbegins on October 22, 2024.
  • All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 5, 2024 General Election. Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by October 7, 2024.
  • Ballot drop-off locations open on October 8, 2024.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.
  • Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties beginning on October 26, 2024.
  • The SJSU on-campus vote center at SJSU Provident Credit Union Event Center (Room 1035) opens on November 2, 2024
  • Election Day (the last day to vote) is November 5, 2024. Polls are open on Election Day 7am-8pm.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day November 5, 2024 and received by November 12, 2024.
